Operational Purchaser
Your Role:
As Operational Purchaser, you shall Liaison day to day between the Suppliers and the IHC organization (in India and overseas). You shall build on your knowledge and skills and by applying them you shall secure that all procured items will be delivered On Specification, On Budget and In time.
You shall be Technical oriented to Manage and deal with supplier involved in purchase of Raw Materials of various Grades , Steel Construction , Casting, Forging, Machining, Painting, Engineering Spares & Equipment and other OEM Trade Items and you thrive in developing new relationships with new partners and assist in identifying New suppliers/partners in our supply chain related all Engineering Spares , Equipment’s and Raw Material.
You will report to the General Manager India together with the Supply Chain Management team.
As operational purchaser, you will be responsible for the following:
Monitoring Purchase Requisitions on daily basis from CRM .
Responsible in the process of Procurement as soon as Purchase Requisition is raised for requirements .
Purchase by implementing good negotiation Skills with suppliers for Competitive Price , Payment Terms and better lead time on Delivery .
Responsible for overall Raw Material Purchase from Local and overseas suppliers as per required Material Garde with Cost effective objectives . Having good knowledge of Raw Material – Steel Grades w.r.t Steel Plates , SHS , RHS , Round Bars , Holland Profile etc….
Should have good Knowledge & Responsible for Purchase of Structural Steel fabrication, Casting & Forging products and Consumable for Workshop .
Regular follow up and expedite with the suppliers as per agreed Delivery schedule in Order & Monitor for Delivery of Parts / Equipment in our Warehouse/Store as per agreed Transport terms .
Inform and coordinate with operations team for issues in the process of Production at supplier end , either w.r.t Delays (or) Technical issues in the process of manufacturing to get clarity and Approval to proceed further.

Process Invoice based on agreed Payment Terms to Suppliers , have regular coordination with Finance Team to process payments to the suppliers.
In case of any required revisions in P.O , to discuss with Suppliers w.r.t revisions in Orders and proceed as agreed mutually on revised Order.…
Prepare and maintain purchase related Reports w.r.t PR’s , Order Status and Delivery details , Data referred and taken from ERP .
Pro-actively approaching and visiting suppliers as and when required in purchase process activity .
Perform Supplier evaluation Reports as and when required .
Your Profile:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a pre.
Min 8-12 years of experience .
Operational Purchase Experience in Marine/ Heavy Engineering Production environment .
Knowledge of Raw Material Steel Grades , Heavy Fabrication Structures, Castings & Forgings Spares Purchase , Consumables for Work shop requirements .
Fluent English (Speech & Writing) and Hindi (Speech) and Other languages optional , but not a necessity.
You should have excellent communication skills as well as conceptual- and analytical thinking capabilities .
Good Computer skills, MS Office and Experience with ERP .
Willingness to travel to other parts of India to visit Suppliers as and when required in process of Purchase .
Conduct Supplier performance Evaluation .
Demonstrates ownership, drive, passion and creativity.
You have a high energy level and you are a self-starter and easily adapt to change and have a proactive personality.
