Commissioning Teamlead

Royal IHC

Kinderdijk
Full Time
Posted on: March 29 2026

Lead complex commissioning operations on high‑impact maritime projects worldwide.

Are you a hands-on commissioning engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for complex maritime systems? Royal IHC is looking for a Commissioning Team Lead who can take full ownership of commissioning activities for newly built dredging and offshore vessels at international shipyards.

If you thrive in challenging environments, enjoy working abroad, and like being the technical authority on site — this is your opportunity.

Your responsibilities

As Commissioning Team Lead, you will prepare, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for all technical systems on board our vessels. You’ll be the on‑site lead for subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring everything is tested, validated, and delivered safely.

You will:

  • Act as Royal IHC’s technical representative at international shipyards.
  • Analyse technical specifications, ITPs, drawings, manuals and test protocols.
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans together with the project planner.
  • Supervise and guide commissioning activities executed by subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Perform commissioning activities according to customer requirements, specifications, quality standards, and planning.

Your profile

  • Degree in shipbuilding, marine engineering, mechanical engineering (or related discipline).
  • Experience with offshore and/or dredging vessels is a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for longer periods.

Royal IHC offers you:

  • A salary between €4700 and €7270 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance.
  • A monthly compensation for your time spent abroad.
  • A profit-sharing scheme that lets you share in Royal IHC’s success.
  • Good work/life balance with 27 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.  On top of your paid leave during your rotations.
  • A solid pension plan through PME.
  • Royal IHC takes care of things you’d rather not worry about, but that are still important—such as disability insurance, partner pension, and the option to have additional healthcare costs reimbursed through our Social Fund.
  • Room to grow: Numerous internal career opportunities and a training budget + access to our IHC Academy to support your development.
