Marketing Manager

Econowind

Groningen
Full Time
Posted on: March 29 2026

About us

Econowind B.V. is a true pioneer in sustainable maritime technology. The company provides innovative wind-assisted propulsion solutions for the shipping industry. Our mission is to reduce the environmental impact of maritime transport while simultaneously improving the operational efficiency of our customers.

As we continue to expand our market presence, we are seeking a dedicated Marketing Manager to strengthen our team and help us unlock new opportunities in the maritime sector.

The role

This role carries full responsibility for Econowind’s positioning within the international maritime market. We are looking for a Marketing Manager (Medior or Senior) who takes ownership of positioning, branding, visibility, events, and is equally comfortable creating strategic direction as going deep into the substance behind our technology and solutions.

You will shape and execute our marketing approach across international B2B markets, with a strong focus on accelerating the growth and further international rollout of our VentoFoils, a proven wind-assisted propulsion solution already in operation.

Operating in a technical and traditionally maritime environment, you know how to position complex solutions in a credible and commercially relevant way. You work closely with colleagues on-site and are present at the office for the majority of the week.

This is a full-time, (for now) non-managerial role with a high level of responsibility and ownership, suited for a marketeer who thrives in scale-up dynamics and international contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of all marketing activities, ensuring clear alignment between marketing initiatives and commercial objectives across international markets.
  • Define, develop and execute marketing strategies together with the CCO, translating strategic priorities into concrete, measurable actions.
  • Drive the international growth and continued market rollout of VentoFoils, building on a proven product and taking ownership of positioning and go-to-market execution.
  • Coordinate the development of marketing content (online and offline), ensuring consistency, quality and technical accuracy across all channels.
  • Manage and optimise the marketing budget, making deliberate trade-offs and ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of sales enablement materials such as presentations, pitch decks, brochures and product documentation in close collaboration with sales.
  • Plan and coordinate relevant trade shows, conferences and industry events, ensuring strong preparation, visibility and follow-up.
  • Initiate and coordinate the development of in-depth case studies, customer success stories and white papers that demonstrate proven performance and real-world impact our VentoFoils.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in a B2B marketing role within a scale-up or growing organisation, preferably in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience operating independently, taking ownership of marketing initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong ability to translate complex or technical solutions into clear, credible and commercially relevant messaging.
  • Experience working in an international context and aligning marketing efforts with commercial and sales objectives.
  • Structured and pragmatic way of working, with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
  • Familiarity with CRM and/or ERP systems and data-driven marketing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with full professional proficiency in English.

Preferred:

  • Maritime background or ambition to work in the maritime sector

What we offer

  • A role through which you can actively contribute to sustainable change.
  • A competitive salary with additional benefits.
  • Work in a forward-thinking team of professionals committed to revolutionizing sustainability in the maritime industry.
  • Personal growth opportunities and room to learn, grow, and thrive further within an ambitious, rapidly-growing scale-up.
  • A team culture where your ideas, opinions, and contributions are valued at all levels.
