JOB CONTEXT

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is engineering, outfitting, commissioning and delivering various Damen standard ship types. Basic designs and most components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. DSCS will complete the detailed design, and production information, which will be used during the assembly of the vessels. The Quality Control (QC) department is securing quality in a way that supports maximum efficiency of the production activity. QC is an important initiator of product and process improvements.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

The QC supervisor (Electrical part) shall be in charge of inspection work and responsibilities of quality control of product (electrical part) during process until completion, and finally project is completely constructed to comply with company procedures, Damen standards, and specification and manufacturer requirement. The QC supervisor in electrical part is responsible for monitoring and checking all electrical activities on board and in shop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES

- Pre-inspection

  • Review the construction method statements and make comments per Inspection Test Plan (ITPs), procedures & specification
  • Advise to develop an Inspection Test Plan (ITP) Electrical part and necessary QC procedures when required

- Material inspection

  • Inspect the quality of incoming electrical material, switchboard, control panels

- Electrical installation

  • Inspection and monitoring Inspect the works in accordance with the Damen standard, Class rules and regulations, specifications and manufacturer instructions
  • Material verification and review of construction standards of electrical installation
  • Electrical Steelwork: Cable tray, cable strip, penetration, foundation
  • Cable pulling, laying, protection and fixing
  • Penetration installation - Connection to switches, equipment
  • Electrical panels, switchboards Witness the FAT of main switchboard at supplier factory

- Quality awareness

  • Investigate identified quality issues and develop effective corrective actions and measures to avoid future error
  • Advise production to improve an electrical installation activities
  • Issue a Non-conformity report (NCR), quality observation report and outstanding items. Follow up when items are done by relative department to close

- Communication

  • Contact with Project team and Class Societies for verification of production activities

- QC documents

  • Maintain the updated and distributed project inspection progress report and Outstanding item list
  • Maintain inspection reports
  • Manage all documents work / test report / material certificates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

- Graduated university, major in Electrical Engineering

- English language and computer skills

Experience:

- Independent working

- 2-3 years related work experience in shipyard environment.
