Shape public policy and regulation for electrification in Europe
Join NKT’s Group Stakeholder Relations team and contribute to the electrification of industry, cities, and societies. As Public Affairs Manager, you will coordinate engagement with public authorities and help shape the framework and regulation for energy and industrial policy in Germany. This is an opportunity to work in a global company investing significantly in Europe’s green transition. Do you want to take part in building the conditions for future energy and critical infrastructure?

Coordinate public engagement and policy initiatives across Germany
In this role, you will plan and execute public affairs activities in Germany, working closely with colleagues across business units and functions. You will support positioning NKT in relevant political and regulatory discussions and ensure alignment between business priorities and external engagement. The position offers exposure to key decision-makers and the opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute engagement with authorities and governments in Germany
  • Identify priority areas and opportunities for public affairs activities
  • Develop and implement engagement and messaging strategies
  • Maintain stakeholder mapping and prioritisation
  • Build relationships with political stakeholders and industry organisations

You will be reporting to the Head of Group Stakeholder Relations. The role is based in Berlin or alternatively in Copenhagen and includes travel across Northern Europe, up to 50 days per year.

Structured communicator with collaborative and self-motivated mindset
You are organised, diplomatic, and comfortable working with different stakeholders in a complex environment. You take initiative and follow through on tasks with attention to detail. You communicate clearly and tailor your approach depending on the situation. You are comfortable representing organisational interests in public settings and enjoy working with colleagues across teams and countries.

You also have:

  • Experience working with regulatory and public affairs
  • Knowledge of energy and industrial policy in Germany and Europe
  • Experience engaging with governments, administrations or interest organisations
  • Fluency in German and English and preferably working knowledge of Danish
  • Experience working in an international or cross-functional environment

Be part of accelerating electrification across Europe
NKT is committed to developing a diverse organization and culture where people of diverse backgrounds can grow and are inspired to do their best. We are deeply committed to establishing gender diversity at NKT and encouraging all interested candidates to apply – even if you don’t tick all the boxes described. We believe that a diverse organization enables long-term performance, and that an inclusive and welcoming culture creates a better work environment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your professional capabilities while working with colleagues across Europe. You will gain insight into policy development, large-scale infrastructure investments, and stakeholder collaboration in an international setting, while contributing to projects that support the transition to sustainable energy systems.

"As a leader, I value curiosity, collaboration and clear communication. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to help position NKT in an evolving policy landscape," says Hiring Manager, Michael Suhr.

About NKT

Our company at a glance

In a globalised and interconnected world, with a rapidly increasing population and demand for a modern lifestyle, the need for power is constantly growing. At NKT, we have made it our purpose to bring power to life by helping meet the growing need for energy.

Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, we pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, we master the fourth industrial revolution with our energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to our customers and the global society.

Trusted partnerships

We take pride in long-term relationships and effortless collaborations, making doing business with us simple, convenient, and efficient. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, maybe because we see ourselves as both their local partner and international supplier, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the right cable solution.

Performing in real life

The environments in which our products and solutions function are often harsh and unfriendly. Laying down a long sea cable on the ocean floor in an unexpected storm or repairing 100-year-old power cables in the ground of a busy metropolis is not for everyone. We know that performance counts in challenging circumstances, and that is when we deliver.
