Support public affairs, political engagement work, and geo-economic risk assessment
Join a company contributing to European energy security and electrification. As a Student Assistant in Group Stakeholder Relations at NKT, you will support work with regulatory and public affairs, geopolitical risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement. This role offers insight into how energy infrastructure interacts with political and regulatory environments in an international company. Would you like to gain practical experience with public affairs in a global context?

Support research, analysis and stakeholder engagement work
As a Student Assistant, you will support the Group Stakeholder Relations team with research, coordination, and preparation of materials related to public affairs, geopolitical developments, and stakeholder engagement. You will contribute to activities that support NKT’s corporate priorities within energy policy, electrification, and infrastructure.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Assist with research and analysis on political and regulatory topics
  • Prepare presentations and briefing materials
  • Support coordination of meetings, events, and stakeholder activities
  • Contribute to secretariat tasks and internal processes
  • Support projects related to geopolitical risk and public affairs

You will be part of a team of five and the position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with around 15 working hours per week and flexible scheduling aligned with your studies.

Curious student with interest in political and business topics
You are motivated by working with both analytical and practical tasks and are curious about how political decisions shape business and infrastructure. You collaborate well with others, communicate openly, and are comfortable engaging with colleagues and stakeholders from different backgrounds. You approach tasks with attention to detail and show initiative in your work.

You also have:

  • Second or third year of a bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, business, or similar
  • Fluency in English and Danish, both written and spoken
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AI tools for analysis or productivity

Contribute to Europe’s electrification and energy transition
NKT is committed to developing a diverse organization and culture where people of diverse backgrounds can grow and are inspired to do their best. We are focused on establishing gender diversity at NKT and encouraging all interested candidates to apply – even if you don’t tick all the boxes described. We believe that a diverse organization enables long-term performance, and that an inclusive and welcoming culture creates a better work environment.
You will gain practical experience in public affairs within a collaborative team environment, working on topics related to energy security, electrification, and infrastructure. The role offers flexibility to combine studies with work, exposure to international stakeholders, and opportunities to build relevant skills for future career paths.

"As a leader, I value curiosity and collaboration, and I look forward to welcoming a student who is interested in understanding how political developments interact with business priorities in the energy sector," says Hiring Manager, Michael Suhr.

About NKT

Our company at a glance

In a globalised and interconnected world, with a rapidly increasing population and demand for a modern lifestyle, the need for power is constantly growing. At NKT, we have made it our purpose to bring power to life by helping meet the growing need for energy.

Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, we pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, we master the fourth industrial revolution with our energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to our customers and the global society.

Trusted partnerships

We take pride in long-term relationships and effortless collaborations, making doing business with us simple, convenient, and efficient. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, maybe because we see ourselves as both their local partner and international supplier, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the right cable solution.

Performing in real life

The environments in which our products and solutions function are often harsh and unfriendly. Laying down a long sea cable on the ocean floor in an unexpected storm or repairing 100-year-old power cables in the ground of a busy metropolis is not for everyone. We know that performance counts in challenging circumstances, and that is when we deliver.
