SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Supervisor for Special Devices

Working in Europe

 

Do you thrive in complex, technical and high-risk lifting environments where precision and safety are everything? Are you an experienced operator or supervisor with a strong background in specialized lifting and transport equipment?

In the role of Supervisor Special Devices, you will lead the execution of highly specialized lifting and transport operations across Europe and beyond. You are responsible for supervising teams working with unique and advanced equipment, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality execution of complex engineered projects.

You will act as the key link between project engineering, operators, and on-site execution teams, making sure that even the most challenging operations are carried out flawlessly.

This is a role for professionals who combine deep technical understanding with leadership, calm decision-making, and a strong safety mindset.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supervising preparation, mobilization, execution, and demobilization of special lifting and transport equipment
  • Leading on-site operational teams during complex and critical lifts
  • Ensuring all activities are executed according to engineering plans, safety standards, and project requirements
  • Coordinating logistics of equipment, components, and site setup
  • Coaching and mentoring operators and junior supervisors in the field
  • Acting as the main operational contact for clients and project stakeholders on site
  • Monitoring equipment condition and ensuring proper inspections and maintenance
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in safety, execution quality, and efficiency
  • Working on international assignments across Europe and potentially worldwide

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Proven experience in heavy lifting, specialized transport, or complex crane operations
  • Experience in a supervisory or lead operator role in a project-based environment
  • Strong technical understanding of hydraulics, mechanics, and lifting systems (electrical knowledge is a plus)
  • Experience with special devices or heavy lifting equipment (crawler cranes, engineered lifting systems, SPMTs, etc.)
  • Strong safety leadership mindset and ability to enforce standards under pressure
  • Ability to lead multicultural teams in dynamic, international environments
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel extensively
  • Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to actively participate in operations when needed
