Advanced warehouse digitalization with SAP WM

Join NKT, a global leader with more than 130 years of innovation in power cable technology, as we accelerate a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation supporting the green energy transition. As a Senior SAP Consultant – WM, you will design, configure, and optimize warehouse management processes using SAP WM to enhance efficiency, automation, and inventory accuracy across our global manufacturing and logistics footprint. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with experienced European colleagues, engage with industry specific IS‑Mill functionality, and contribute to a SAP Digital Core that supports NKT’s long-term growth. Do you want to be part of a purpose-driven global company and help build the future of digital warehousing?

Develop best‑in‑class warehouse and logistics solutions

In this role, you will support end-to-end warehouse operations by creating scalable SAP WM designs that align with NKT’s global standards. You will work closely with warehouse teams, supply chain, procurement, and production, ensuring seamless inbound, internal, and outbound processes. You will also oversee warehouse structures, integration points, RF/mobile setups, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance automation and operational excellence.

Your responsibility will be to:
•    Configure and optimize WM processes across inbound, internal, and outbound warehouse flows.
•    Design warehouse layouts including storage types, bins, strategies, handling units, and packaging logic.
•    Ensure system integration with MM, SD, PP, and QM for goods movements, inspections, and stock postings.
•    Diagnose system problems such as stock discrepancies, blocked documents, or RF transaction errors.
•    Prepare documentation, training content, test scenarios, and coordinate deployments and enhancements.

You will report to the Senior Manager – IT within Group IT and collaborate with global teams. The position is based in Chennai (G3C) with international travel for knowledge transfer.

Collaborative and structured professional with logistics mindset

You are a person who thrives in a multicultural environment and enjoys solving complex logistics challenges. You communicate clearly, work with both operational teams and technical colleagues, and bring a structured approach to your daily work. You value accuracy, transparency, and continuous learning, and you enjoy contributing to improvements that enhance warehouse efficiency and simplify global processes. Your initiative and ability to balance local needs with global governance will help you deliver results in this role.

You also have:
•    8+ years of experience in SAP WM implementation and support.
•    Extensive experience in inbound, internal, outbound, physical inventory, and stock control processes.
•    Solid understanding of warehouse structures, strategies, movement types, HU management, and RF frameworks.
•    Experienced in integrating WM with MM, SD, PP, and QM
•    Exposure to S/4HANA warehouse innovations enhancements.

Improve global warehouse excellence through SAP innovation

About NKT

Our company at a glance

In a globalised and interconnected world, with a rapidly increasing population and demand for a modern lifestyle, the need for power is constantly growing. At NKT, we have made it our purpose to bring power to life by helping meet the growing need for energy.

Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, we pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, we master the fourth industrial revolution with our energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to our customers and the global society.

Trusted partnerships

We take pride in long-term relationships and effortless collaborations, making doing business with us simple, convenient, and efficient. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, maybe because we see ourselves as both their local partner and international supplier, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the right cable solution.

Performing in real life

The environments in which our products and solutions function are often harsh and unfriendly. Laying down a long sea cable on the ocean floor in an unexpected storm or repairing 100-year-old power cables in the ground of a busy metropolis is not for everyone. We know that performance counts in challenging circumstances, and that is when we deliver.
