About Damen
Damen Workboats is één van de kerndivisies binnen de Damen Shipyards Group en dé wereldwijde specialist in werkvaartuigen. Vanuit Gorinchem ontwerpen, bouwen en leveren wij een breed portfolio aan onder meer tugboats, crew transfer vessels, patrol vessels en fast supply vessels. Onze schepen worden ingezet in uiteenlopende markten zoals offshore wind, havens, marine & overheid en maritieme dienstverlening.
Innovatie, standaardisatie en digitalisering staan centraal binnen Damen Workboats. Om de toenemende technische complexiteit en dynamiek in markt‑ en klantbehoeften beheersbaar te houden, is onze hardware productontwikkeling Agile ingericht en georganiseerd binnen één Agile Release Train (ART). Binnen deze context speelt de Scrum Master een belangrijke rol in het begeleiden en ondersteunen van teams, het bevorderen van samenwerking en het continu verbeteren van flow en voorspelbaarheid, zodat product‑ en systeemteams gezamenlijk effectief waarde kunnen leveren.
The role
Als Scrum Master binnen Damen Workboats ondersteun en begeleid je meerdere Agile teams die werken aan hardware-gedreven productontwikkeling en bijbehorende engineering- en procesverbeteringen. Je helpt teams én het bredere ART om flow, voorspelbaarheid en samenwerking structureel te verbeteren en fungeert daarbij als sparringpartner voor Product Owners, engineers en leiderschap.
Daarnaast maak je samen met andere Scrum Masters en de Release Train Engineer (RTE) deel uit van een ART‑team dat zich richt op het oplossen van ART‑brede impediments en het continu verbeteren van de werkwijze.
Agile werken binnen Workboats is volop in ontwikkeling. Dit betekent ruimte om te bouwen, te experimenteren en – waar nodig – bestaande werkwijzen kritisch ter discussie te stellen.
Je bent niet alleen procesbewaker, maar ook coach, facilitator en verbinder. Je stimuleert een Agile mindset en helpt de organisatie om Agile werken verder te professionaliseren binnen een technische en projectgedreven omgeving.

Newbuild
Damen has delivered more than 6,500 vessels in 100 countries and delivers some 175 vessels annually to customers worldwide. Damen’s focus on standardisation, modular construction and keeping vessels on stock leads to short delivery times, low total cost of ownership and reliable performance. We offer a wide range of products including tugs, naval and patrol vessels, high speed craft, ferries, dredging, offshore vessels and superyachts.
Shiprepair & conversion
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
Services
Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.
Components
Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
