The Geophysicist is responsible to collect, process, interpret, and analyse geophysical data (SSS/SBP/MAG) acquired to produce accurate and informative maps and models of the sub-seafloor geology.

Responsibility for data processing (SSS/SBP/MAG) and for the production of the preliminary/final reporting products. The Geophysicist is responsible for the production of the reports required during or at the end of the operations.

The Geophysicist is responsible to support the RepCo\ P&R Sup. for the production of the reports required. The Geophysicist will report as function to the P&R Mngr.

The Geophysicist will liaise with the P&R Sup./RepCo for project related matters.

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

Production of the data deliverables during the project operations. Monitoring and promptly report any data quality issue with the processing results.

The Geophysicist is also responsible for interpreting the processed data (SSS/SBP/MAG). Produce final deliverables in line with the company Quality standards and in line with project requirements.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geophysics, geology, or a related field is typically required, experience in the role within the offshore survey industry may be considered
Experience with SonarWiz/SeaView/CODA/ Oasis Montaj processing suite; similar software may be considered
Ability to QA/QC SSS/SBP/MAG data
Proficiency with GIS software, such as ArcGIS and QGIS, is required
Ability to produce ESRI compliant geodatabases, integrating all survey data to the client’s specification. Offshore experience preferred
A familiarity with the geological/geophysical equipment, can be helpful
Good written and oral English
Must be able to travel freely

OUR HISTORY

NextGeo was born from a joint venture between successful Italian entrepreneurs and a cohesive group of highly experienced managers.

The corporate structure is composed of the Marnavi Group , a major Italian shipowner operating globally in the offshore oil and gas industry, and the management team that directs the company. Since its founding, the company's operational headquarters have been located in Naples , where they remain to this day.

Subsequently, to further enhance the group's growth, relevance, and capabilities, a second major operating base was established in Norwich , UK. Since then, NextGeo has established itself as one of the leading international companies in marine exploration contracting, providing support services for offshore infrastructure construction, and is recognized as a major player in the industry.

Thanks to the expertise, experience and reputation of its professionals and the high quality and efficiency of its naval and technical assets, despite its relatively recent history, NextGeo has been successfully involved in the completion of most of the major energy infrastructure projects in the EMEA region .

In 2020, to support a large offshore wind farm development plan in the eastern North Sea, NextGeo established a new operations base in the Netherlands with its operational headquarters in IJmuiden.
