Tender Engineer Offshore Energy

Jan De Nul Group – Dredging

Capellen
Full Time
Posted on: April 29 2026
Your Work Context

As a Tender Engineer Offshore Energy, you can expect an exciting and varied role—a mix of technical and commercial analysis, project management, and client interaction. In a way, you create the backbone of a project within offshore energy structures, subsea cables, subsea rock installation, or seabed interventions.

Your Role

Looking for variety? Then this job is a great fit. No two days are the same, and you go through different phases. You start by reviewing new project inquiries. After a thorough analysis of the documents, you extract the crucial information, enabling you to assess the required execution techniques, materials, risk factors, and costs. You coordinate colleagues from various support departments, and with their input, you prepare a technically and commercially attractive proposal, which you present to and discuss with the client.

  • You easily distinguish main issues from side issues and extract the essence from complex documents. You take technical, legal and commercial aspects into account, writing them out clearly and correctly.
  • You consult with colleagues from other departments. Legal, financial, technical, QHSSE or other teams provide the valuable input you need for a tender.
  • You keep track of project costs and also consult with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Based on all this gathered information ánd in consultation with the Tender Manager, you draw up a technical and commercial action plan.
  • You are the point of contact for the client. You meet with them, explain and negotiate your offer. Do you have to travel abroad briefly to do so? Then you will jump on a plane with great pleasure!

What do you need to have?

A broad interest, socially and commercially minded as well as technical insight. That is what a Tender Engineer Offshore needs. You are interested in large international projects, the offshore business fascinates you and you want to contribute to the energy transition.

  • You obtained a Master's degree in engineering, geology, geography or economics. Experience in the sector is not required (but obviously an added value), but the will to learn, and to deepen and broaden your knowledge on the job is.
  • A challenge? You do not shy away from it. No, you see it as an opportunity to show what you are capable of!
  • You can extract complex information from voluminous documents, collect the required technical, legal and commercial data, and write them out clearly and correctly.
  • You are good at listening to what others say - even between the lines, making you a good negotiator.
  • When you sink your teeth into something, you do not let go easily. Your tender document must and will be completed by the deadline, even if you have to pull out all the stops to do so!
