Your Work Context

For its central offices in Aalst/Hofstade,Jan De Nul Group is looking for a Senior/Lead Software Developer who wants to deepen their expertise in software development, technical architecture, and guiding development teams. In this role, you will work from Aalst in close collaboration with analysts, architects, and developers to deliver scalable and efficient ICT solutions that optimally support the organization’s business processes.

Your Role

The development team supports various challenging business processes at Jan De Nul. Through both purchased and in-house developed software, we respond to the company’s needs. To further expand our business software support for the central services, construction sites, and vessels, we are looking for a Senior/Lead Software Developer to join our team of Analysts and Application Developers.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Writing and unit testing high-quality code that meets current standards and delivers the required functionality.
  • Interpreting functional specifications and combining them with the technical architecture to arrive at a concrete design.
  • Communicating the design efficiently with all stakeholders: Technical Architect, Functional Analyst, and Developers.
  • Coaching Developers in writing code, understanding and applying the technical architecture, and providing support for planning and task follow-up.
  • Ensuring the quality of delivered code by performing regular code reviews, giving feedback to Developers, and proposing and following up on improvements.
  • In collaboration with the Technical Architect, setting up an environment that efficiently supports the development team, including appropriate source control (GIT), branching strategy, build/release scripts (Azure DevOps), bug tracking (Jira), etc.
  • You report to the Senior Team Lead ICT Development.

What do you need?

You are passionate about development and hold a Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, with a focus on programming. You have at least 5 years of professional experience. You have knowledge of .NET (Core) C#, web development (Blazor, Angular), and RESTful web services (ASP.NET Web API), as well as SQL and stored procedures.

Knowledge of offline applications, WinForms, data synchronization, scripting (JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.), reporting tools (Power BI, Crystal Reports), Continuous Integration with Azure DevOps, and architectural principles such as SOA is a plus.

You are able to interpret analyses made using modeling languages such as UML.As a Lead Developer, you are strong in communication, solution-oriented, and capable of guiding and coaching a team.
