Jan De Nul Group – Dredging
We thank our position as a global player to our technically innovative know-how and the most modern dredging fleet in the world. Jan De Nul Group therefore continues to invest in its fleet. Every project is different and each time the optimal configuration is put together. And if it does not exist, we make it ourselves!
As Maintenance Support Engineer within a specific technical domain, you are responsible for co-developing and rolling out the maintenance policy for our dredging fleet. You will focus on increasing the technical availability of our vessels and reducing maintenance costs. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
Together with our colleagues in the Technical Division and the crews on board our fleet, you are responsible for the design, set-up and optimisation of the maintenance management system. This involves mapping out and following up critical parts and stocks, both qualitatively and budget-wise, from your expertise to be built up or already acquired within the field of diesel engines and propulsion technology.
Furthermore, you will also be involved in the follow-up of major maintenance, you will determine together with your colleagues (purchase, crew and fleet management) the necessary parts and secure them in the maintenance system, which should allow us to realise an exact budget forecasting.
Besides building up the maintenance management software, you are also responsible for keeping the technical library of your field up to date. To achieve this, you will have internal contacts as well as contact with suppliers and manufacturers.
After an induction period, you will also be part of an audit team. As an auditor, you will regularly inspect the quality of our stock management, maintenance records and crew training on board our ships. Based on your findings, you will report to fleet management, the crew and you will set up an improvement plan.
You will work in the Aalst office and be prepared to work from abroad a few weeks a year. This will involve short missions.
