Purpose of the position

The High Voltage Project Manager is responsible for preparing, organising and realising high-voltage projects (e.g. battery storage, stations, connections and cables) within the set scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements, taking into account safety, laws and regulations and stakeholder interests.

 

Core tasks and responsibilities

Project management

  • Leading high-voltage projects from initiation to delivery
  • Drafting and monitoring project plans, planning, budget, and risks
  • Coordinate engineering, execution, testing and commissioning
  • Reporting on progress, costs, quality and risks

Technology & quality

  • Substantive management of technical disciplines (primary, secondary, civil)
  • Testing designs against technical standards (including NEN, IEC) and customer requirements
  • Ensuring the quality, safety and reliability of installations

Security & compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with VCA, Working Conditions legislation and company regulations
  • Supervising safe working in and around high-voltage installations
  • Organizing risk analyses (RI&E, LMRA) and safety plans

Stakeholder management

  • Coordinating with clients, network operators, contractors and suppliers
  • Maintaining contacts with internal departments (tender and finance)
  • Communicating with external stakeholders such as governments and regulators

Contract and supplier management

  • Supervising tenders and contract formation
  • Managing procurement and outsourcing
  • Managing and assessing suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitoring contractual agreements and contract variations

Powers

  • Deciding on project-related and organizational issues within mandate
  • Deployment of project resources and project team members
  • Approving (partial) deliveries and reports

Job requirements

Education

  • MBO/HBO working and thinking level
  • Education in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar
  • Dutch and English

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as a project leader in technical infrastructure
  • Demonstrable experience with high-voltage installations (≥25kV) is an advantage
  • Experience with multidisciplinary projects and complex environments

Knowledge

  • High-voltage grids, substations and connections
  • Laws and regulations within energy and security

  • Environmental sensitivity and stakeholder-oriented

Working conditions

  • Alternation between office, project locations and construction sites

  • Specialisation in high-voltage substations or connections
  • Training and certifications within project management and energy technology
