About us

Damen Song Cam Shipyard (DSCS) specializes in engineering, outfitting, commissioning, and delivering various Damen standard ship types. Basic designs and some components are provided by Damen Workboats, while DSCS completes detailed design and production information for vessel assembly.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Department ensures compliance with international standards and Damen requirements, focusing on quality management systems, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

The role

Support the establishment, implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality & Integrated Management System (IMS) in compliance with Damen Group standards and relevant ISO requirements, contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational processes.

Key accountabilities

Your tasks are the following:

Quality Policy Development & Alignment

Support the development and review of quality policies in alignment with Damen Group (Netherlands) standards, including vision, methodology, planning, and continuous improvement orientation.
Monitor internal and external quality trends, assess their impact, and propose updates to quality policies where necessary.

Quality Policy Implementation

Support and supervise the implementation of quality management procedures across the organization.
Advise and provide practical guidance to line managers to ensure consistent and effective application of quality requirements.

Integrated Management System (IMS)

Assist in establishing, maintaining and improving the Integrated Management System in accordance with ISO standards and applicable internal/external regulations.
Ensure all procedures and documentation are properly controlled and kept up to date.
Analyze operational and quality data to identify improvement opportunities and enhance process effectiveness and efficiency.

Improvement Projects

Initiate, coordinate and participate in quality improvement projects in line with Damen Group’s quality and development strategy.
Track progress, measure results, and report to direct supervisor and management.

Cross-functional & External Coordination

Work closely with the Production Department to monitor compliance and correct behaviors related to quality requirements and procedures.
Maintain effective communication with sister companies and relevant suppliers regarding quality-related matters.

Other Duties

Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful in this role you bring:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience

At least 03 years of relevant working experience in ISO / Quality / Integrated Management System roles.

Skills & Competencies

Good knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (ISO).
Strong ability to learn new concepts, apply them effectively, and share knowledge with others.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Good computer skills, communication skills, and coordination ability.
Analytical mindset with continuous improvement orientation.

DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.

Services

Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.

Components

Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
