Manage complex high voltage cable infrastructure projects

Would you like to be at the center of the transition to renewable energy? As a Sr. Project Manager at NKT, you will manage large, global infrastructure projects within high voltage cable systems for offshore wind and power transmission. You will join Project Execution and work with global colleagues on complex delivery projects for Transmission System Operators and energy developers. This role offers a broad scope, international collaboration, and close involvement in the energy transition. Do you want to work on projects that connect renewable power across borders?

Deliver global high voltage cable projects end‑to‑end

In this role, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and completing large and mega infrastructure projects from start to formal closure. You ensure delivery according to contractual requirements, budget, quality, and safety standards while working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. The work requires structured execution, clear communication, and sound judgement across technical, commercial, and contractual topics.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Manage large and mega delivery projects through all phases
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with established processes and NKT guidelines
  • Capture, analyse, and share lessons learned during execution
  • Oversee contracts, claims handling, procurement, and stakeholder cooperation

You will report to Senior Director, Project Portfolio Management, and work with a globally distributed team. The position is based in Karlskrona, Malmö, or Rotterdam and includes international travel depending on project needs.

Structured and communicative project professional

You approach complex assignments with responsibility, clarity, and cooperation. You communicate in a transparent and respectful manner and support project colleagues through practical guidance. You plan your work carefully, follow agreed structures, and adjust your plans when priorities change. You learn from experience and focus on practical solutions when challenges arise.

You also have:

  • 5–10 years of experience in project management or as part of a project team
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Project management training, education, or certification
  • Experience managing risks, timelines, and budgets in complex projects
  • Experience from offshore, energy, power transmission, cable, or construction sectors

Connecting renewable energy across borders

We have high ambitions on establishing gender diversity at NKT and encouraging all interested candidates to apply – even if you don’t tick all the boxes described. We believe that a diverse organization enables long-term performance, and that an inclusive and welcoming culture creates a better work environment.

In this role, you gain opportunities for professional development while working in a collaborative, international setting. You will expand your project management capabilities, contribute to large-scale energy infrastructure, and work closely with colleagues across functions and countries as part of NKT’s growth journey.

About NKT

Our company at a glance

In a globalised and interconnected world, with a rapidly increasing population and demand for a modern lifestyle, the need for power is constantly growing. At NKT, we have made it our purpose to bring power to life by helping meet the growing need for energy.

Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, we pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, we master the fourth industrial revolution with our energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to our customers and the global society.

Trusted partnerships

We take pride in long-term relationships and effortless collaborations, making doing business with us simple, convenient, and efficient. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, maybe because we see ourselves as both their local partner and international supplier, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the right cable solution.

Performing in real life

The environments in which our products and solutions function are often harsh and unfriendly. Laying down a long sea cable on the ocean floor in an unexpected storm or repairing 100-year-old power cables in the ground of a busy metropolis is not for everyone. We know that performance counts in challenging circumstances, and that is when we deliver.
