About us
Damen Shipyards Group has been in operation for over ninety years and offers maritime solutions worldwide, through design, construction, conversion and repair of ships and ship components. By integrating systems, Damen creates innovative, high-quality platforms, which provide our customers with maximum added value.

Damen operates 35 shipyards and 20 other companies in 20 countries supported by a worldwide sales and service network. The Group delivers in the region of 100 vessels per year, with a total production value of over 3 billion euros and offers direct employment to approximately 12,500 people.
Since joining the Damen Shipyards Group in 1999, Damen Shipyards Galaţi, currently the group’s top exporter of high-end complex vessels, has developed into a highly efficient production yard with significant output. Its expertise and closely managed supply chain have been behind some of Damen’s most important deliveries to date, fully illustrating the group’s diverse product portfolio.
The role
The Specialist Engineer ensures the technical verification, adaptation, and coordination of execution documentation for shipbuilding projects. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external design offices to ensure the quality, feasibility, and accuracy of project documentation before and during production.
This position involves both office-based and field (on-board or dockside) activities to provide technical assistance and ensure alignment between design and execution.

Newbuild
Damen has delivered more than 6,500 vessels in 100 countries and delivers some 175 vessels annually to customers worldwide. Damen’s focus on standardisation, modular construction and keeping vessels on stock leads to short delivery times, low total cost of ownership and reliable performance. We offer a wide range of products including tugs, naval and patrol vessels, high speed craft, ferries, dredging, offshore vessels and superyachts.
Shiprepair & conversion
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
Services
Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.
Components
Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
