De functie
Als teamleider mechanical fitter bij Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam combineer jij vakmanschap en leiderschap op de werf. Ben jij een teamleider met kennis van scheepsreparatie en wil jij graag 40 vakantiedagen? Houd je van een dynamische omgeving waar geen dag het zelfde is met een salaris tussen de 3900 en 4600 bruto per maand.
De mechanical fitters uit jouw team voeren de montagewerkzaamheden uit aan diverse zeegaande schepen. Demonteren en monteren van pompen, winches en schroefassen, tandwielkassen en nog veel meer. Je houd je bezig met het aansturen van het team. Jij bepaalt de optimale werkvolgorde, het aantal medewerkers, materialen en gereedschappen. Waar nodig werk je mee en zorg je dat de planning behaalt wordt.

Team Leader Mechanical Fitter
As a Team Leader Mechanical Fitter at Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam, you combine hands-on expertise with leadership on the shipyard. Are you a team leader with knowledge of ship repair and looking forward to 40 vacation days? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where no day is the same, with a salary between €3,900 and €4,600 gross per month?
Your team of mechanical fitters carries out assembly work on a variety of seagoing vessels. They dismantle and assemble pumps, winches, shafts, gearboxes, and more. You lead the team, set the optimal work order, allocate staff, materials, and tools. Where needed, you join in and ensure the schedule is met.
Responsibilities:
Prepare work: define work order, distribute tasks, plan capacity, ensure tools and materials are available according to drawings.
Lead a team of mechanical fitters and ensure work is executed properly.
Follow safety and company regulations.
Contribute to efficiency improvements and support company objectives.
Experience:
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engines.
Experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or offshore.
Able to read technical drawings independently.
VCA VOL certified, or willing to obtain it.
Leadership and motivational skills; stress-resistant.
Fluent in Dutch and English.

Shiprepair & conversion
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
Services
Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.
Components
Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
