The Engineer role (interior experience)

We’re looking for a who sees the vessel as a whole, not just one piece.

You’ll fit if you have a broad knowledge of shipbuilding and are eager to design and develop systems for vessels — from construction and mechanics to electrical, automation, and navigation systems. If you have experience in designing technical systems, can combine knowledge from various fields of engineering, and want to have a real impact on the quality of projects – this offer is for you. 

We are looking for an engineer responsible for interior at basic design processes, with experience and knowledge at engineering shipbuilding projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and verifying outfitting elements on board the vessel, ensuring technical correctness, spatial compatibility, safety compliance, and proper integration with the ship’s structure and onboard systems.
 

Key accountabilities

  • Preparing the General Arrangement (GA) of a vessel at the conceptual design stage, in close cooperation with all engineering disciplines and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Analyzing and developing escape route layouts and evacuation analyses, including corridors and staircases, in line with project requirements.
  • Creating 3D models of windows (including wheelhouse windows) and calculating window glass thicknesses in accordance with project requirements.
  • Preparing 2D drawings of accommodation and interior layouts, including cabins, mess rooms, corridors, functional layouts, as well as outfitting elements such as doors, windows, staircases, furniture, and finishes, in line with project requirements.
  • Developing fire protection, safety, and comfort plans in cooperation with all project disciplines, in accordance with project requirements.
  • Preparing Paint Plans in accordance with project requirements.
  • Coordinating, updating, and modifying the General Arrangement throughout the entire project lifecycle, taking into account all shipbuilding disciplines and the 3D model.

Skills & experience

  • Higher technical education (preferred: Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding, or a related technical field).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in ship/offshore systems projects.
  • Ability to produce technical sketches, layouts, and documentation, 2D documentation and 3D models.
  • Experience in design work related to General Arrangement and/or ship interior design.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to translate design requirements into functional and spatial solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment and cooperate with various engineering teams.
  • Accuracy, responsibility for documentation consistency, and readiness to work iteratively throughout the project duration.
  • Good command of the English language at B2 level (written and verbal);
  • Polish language communication proficiency at least C1 is a must.
  • Experience in projects involving evacuation analyses, safety, or fire protection.
  • Experience working with 3D models used for multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Familiarity with design processes carried out in an international project environment.
  • Familiarity with classification society rules and industry standards.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear communication and ability to present technical decisions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
