About us:
Damen Civil & Modular Constructions is a company within the Damen group where we are passionate about building entire shipyards, drydocks of all sizes, a wide range of (modular) pontoons and barges, and any other steelworks worldwide. We are headquartered in the center of the Netherlands in Gorinchem but we service an build all over the globe. We have a diverse mix of experts in engineering, production (local and global), quality and project/product management. Together we aim to serve our internal and external clients with out of the box solutions.
About you:
As a Project Manager Engineering you ensure that all the engineering needs of any project are being fulfilled. You will have a coordinating role between the project manager and the inhouse engineers or any (number of) external engineering parties.
You are able to ensure that the engineering deliverables are met and also have the capability to ensure that the quality is up to standard for procurement, work preparation and ultimately for construction. Part of your role is also to ensure that all engineering deliverables are according to the sold specification, class and local regulations. You have a strong technical background with solid project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor engineering deliverables of all project deadlines and ensure that all
engineering deliverables stay within budget
- Support the project managers with any technical questions
- Manage internal and third party engineering parties
- Identify and mitigate risk in a project
- Advise on building strategies and design
- Ensure quality of engineering output and ensure proper documentation is in
place
Education / skills and experience:
- 5-7 year of relevant experience in similar functions
- Bachelor and/or master in Shipbuilding, Martime or mechanical engineering
- Experience in 3D software such as Rhino, AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Good command of the English(written & verbal), addition of Dutch is preferred

Newbuild

Shiprepair & conversion
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
Services
Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.
Components
Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
